MPI より来日中の山内さんがご来社下さいました。会津に来たからには「来夢」さんでとろけるチャーシューメンを絶対に食べたかったという事でお夕飯は皆で一緒に。何でも同研究所にいる会津大出身の Yoshizawa さんに言われたそうです。吉田さんもお元気との事で（読んでいますか? ^_^ ）、何より！ それぞれの国の未成年者の話にもなりました。Kathrin も日本は地べたに平気で座る若者が多くて驚いたと何度も言っていますが、それは街が奇麗だからできる事なんですねぇ。汚れていればまた別の問題ありなんだそうです、うーん。

sometimes I`m still wondering about the Japanese eating habits. Even though I`ve been living here for 6 monthes, I`ve never seen a demonstration, how to combine toast, umaibo, bananas and chocolate before. Seems to taste very delicious :-) I should try it, too!!!

today the last week of my internship here at Eyes Japan has been started. I`m quite busy to finish the last tutorial for the Facial Mocap project: How to create BlendShapes with Maya. Please believe, I don`t want to leave without sharing my knowledge. So I keep on hard working, like everyone in this company :-)

最近は口癖でよく人にこのような質問をするようになった。答えは自明であるにも関わらず 人に何度も聞きたくなる。「卒論終わったよ！」。この返答をどれほど待ち焦がれた事だろう。 この返答はなんど聞いても飽きない。もっと言ってくれ。「卒論終わったよ！」×１０ぐらい。 それほど、卒論の終焉は卒研生に、究極的な歓喜、絶対的な安らぎを を与えてくれる。

しかし、これは一つの終わりに過ぎない。
故人曰く「次の始まりのために今の終わりがある」。だから、これからは
次ステップの人生プランを考える時だ。

初めて自分のPowerBookからCD-ROMが出ない現象が起こりました。スロットイン式のものなので薄くて軟らかいものは要注意！とわかっていたのですが、今回のはそれではなくごくごく一般のものでした。Googleって色々試しましたが出てこない…薄い棒でひっかけようとしたらますます奥に入っちゃった…アチャーと思って、隣で集中して仕事をしていた博士に聞いた所（知識はタダではないのでまずは自分でも調べないと…）、『再起動時にマウス押したままにして』の一言。早速やってみると意図も簡単に出てきました。ホッ。。

Hello everybody,

my last time here in Japan seems to become very difficult for me. First the crash of my computer, now the blocking of my web page where I used to publish my diary: Katorin on Japanese tracks. Unfortunately I passed over my limit (100MB) by loading up a MoCap tutorial (33MB). Although I deleted some data, I cannot abolish the blocking because I forgot my passwort. And to change this I have to be available in Germany. As soon as Yamadera-san comes back tonight I'll ask for some Web Space.

ちょっと前に会社に導入された3Dプリンター。自分がメインで使っています。とりあえず人の顔を彫ってみました。いずれもっと面白いものを作ります。 担当:石川

ここ数週間、あいづ・ジャパンは大忙し。
PC修理, ネットワーク構築, ウィルス駆除等々。
スタッフが期末試験や論文〆切に終われていて、ただでさえ人手が足りないときに…。

まぁ、「仕事がない」っていう状態よりはずっといいんですけどね。

These weeks, we are very busy!
PC restoration, network construction, virus removal, etc.
What is more, we don't have enough hands because the staff are in examination and thesis deadline.

Of course, we're just happy to have a jobs.

「海外からのインターン生が絶えないという恵まれた環境である程度の会話だけでただ毎日過ごすのはどうもなぁ、そうだTOEICを受けてみよう！」と思いたち、早速教材を揃えました。達成目標を3段階に組み、まずは1段階突破を狙い少しずつ勉強を始めてみます。AERAの記事によると（記憶が正しければ…）、500点/海外赴任・600点/30日未満の海外出張・650点/30日以上の海外出張・720(750)点/部長等の幹部クラスだそうです。結果は突破してからまたここで報告したいと思います。せっかく会津大が試験会場ですしね。うーん、楽しみ。

フルーツを買い足すついでに、クルミを買ってきました。
から付きのクルミなんて、十数年ぶりなので「手で割れる」とか変な考えを持っ てしまっていましたが、手で割るのなんて無理なので、クルミ割りの道具の代わ りにペンチで割ってみました。中身ってちょっとしかないですね。（昔割った物 の方が、身がぎっしり詰まっていたような気がするんですが... どうなんでしょ う？）

during the last weeks here at Eyes Japan, I`m going to describe the workflow about the Facial Motion Capture Project. Today we finished the last part: syncronizing the movies, both animated and real. This will give a better idea, what kind of data we captured. After watching these movies, I feel very proud of being a part of the CG project team.

Additionally I`ll create a Flash Tutorial about the workflow. I hope, it will be used by interested students, as well here in Japan as in Germany. Thanks to all, who gave so much help.

Hello,

a quite good experience for me is taking part in the weekly meetings, when all the students come by the office and talk about their projects. Afterwards there is always a presentation, mostly about favourit topics, the students want to talk about.

Yesterday I really enjoyed it: "How to make WLAN visible". Unfortunately my Japanese is not good enough, so I missed some interesting parts. By the way, it was the most interesting presentation I have seen here;-)

today I`ve got some Snoopy lunchboxes from Mamisu-san. Thanks a lot:-) Unless they look quite nice, the upcoming idea was to take them home to Germany and prove, that they are definitely in use. So, as you can see, there are 5: one for potatoes, one for sausages, one for cheese, one for ... yeah, I have no more ideas. Maybe, I`ll take just one and send you a picture. Snoppy on German tracks!

Today started my last month at Eyes Japan. I hope, I can finish the projects and prove, that German students are best choice for internship candidates.

Enough for today, I have to hurry up to solve my internet access problem.
